We are home from Rockwall. This past week has been such a blur for all of us. We are still shocked and can't believe the horror of losing someone you love that was so young.
In case some of you reading this have not heard we left last Wednesday morning after a phone call from one of Jad's sisters telling us to come to Rockwall immediately his youngest sister was in ICU at the hospital and not doing well at all. We didn't know what to think or even what we were walking into at that hospital. When we arrived we heard the reality that there was no hope and they had kept her on life support so the family could say goodbye to her.
We still don't know what happened. She was not feeling well and had a bad headache Tuesday night. (She had a history of Ulcerative Colitis but it was manageable.) Jad's mom took her to the ER that night around 11pm. They couldn't find anything going on with her so they released her at 3am. She was very weak and Jad's mom told them not to release her. They decided to keep her and run some more tests. According to Jad's mom around 5am everything starting happening. She went into a crisis and they had to resuscitate her twice. Once she was stable enough they took her to surgery where they found her colon inflamed and decided to remove it. They looked at her gallbladder and it was fine so they looked at her liver. The doctor said her liver was black and hard as a rock. At that point they knew there was nothing more they could do. Her body was shutting down. They kept her on life support until around 3pm the next day to give everyone in the family time to come say goodbye. She was laid to rest yesterday, March 31, next to her Daddy.
I want to thank everyone for their prayers this past week. We have felt them tremendously. God has provided for Jad's family in so many ways this past week. We are so thankful we can rejoice that Kristen is in Heaven right now with her Savior. We will see her again one day, praise God!
